Lucio arrived in the 11th century to sink its roots in the Iberian soil for many years. This olive variety brought from Tunisia is vigorous, capable of withstanding extreme climatic conditions, and resistant to pests and diseases. The region of Western Montes of Granada becomes the first oil producer of the province, and its municipality, Illora, in the headquarters of the olive tree picio, with a total of 155 thousand olive trees in 1895.
